What’s New – April 2025

We’re excited to share the latest product enhancements in our software release for FC Hub, FC Inspect, FC Vision, and FC Hub mobile. These updates are designed to empower you with even more control over your fleet management. Here’s what’s new:

FC Hub

Map

Take Control with Permission-Based Lock/Unlock Access

Fleet managers can now assign lock/unlock access with the new “Asset Access Control” permission—ensuring only authorized employees can send commands to OEM assets. .

New Display Option in Asset List: Last Sync or Status Duration

Fleet managers now have more flexibility in how they view asset activity. Choose between:
  • Last Sync – See when the asset last reported data

Customize your view for smarter, faster decisions.

DTC Sensor Added to Asset Details

Fleet managers can now view all active DTCs (Device Trouble Codes) directly in the asset details.
Multiple codes? No problem—they’re neatly displayed in a comma-separated list (e.g., P0442, P0171, P0300).

Stay ahead of issues with real-time diagnostic insights.

Streamlined Asset Management

View asset details directly on the live map, without switching screens. Select a new asset, and its details will update instantly, while keeping the previous view open. Key features include:
  • Focused View: Only the selected asset’s marker is visible.
  • Seamless Navigation: Switch assets without losing context.
  • Clear Context: Geofences remain visible, while other markers disappear.
Simplify your workflow and stay in control with everything in one place!

Enhanced Track Point Visibility with Speed and Ignition State

This update ensures that speed and ignition status are always front and center in the collapsed track point view. By improving the informational hierarchy, users can quickly access critical data, making it easier to monitor and track essential metrics in real-time. Stay informed, stay efficient!

Collapsed View

Expanded View

Localized Time Zone Display

Get greater clarity with timestamps now showing the time zone! The format adjusts based on your region preferences, including options for English (US), French (Canada), Spanish (Mexico), and Estonian. Stay synchronized no matter where you are!

Local Time for Assets & Geofences

Asset details and quick view cards now show local time based on the asset’s location for real-time tracking precision! The geofence quick view card now displays local time at each location, giving fleet managers instant context without the conversions.

Customizable Cluster Layouts

Fleet managers can easily switch between two cluster summary views: Asset Type (current) or Asset List with alphabetical sorting. Tailor your dashboard to fit your needs for a more personalized experience!

Enhanced Asset Tracking with Highlighted Track Lines

You can now highlight track lines to see detailed asset usage at each point, including sensor states (PTO on/off) or towing events—identified as movement with ignition off. Choose from None, Towing, PTO State, or Digital Input 1-4 for tailored tracking.

Customizable Sensor Management

Fleet managers can now pin and customize sensor lists for easy access across similar assets. The list is saved per user, ordered alphabetically, and has no sensor limit. Easily search and add sensors to your pinned list. Plus, gain more control with options to show sensors that never reported (N/A) or those with static values for over 7 days.

Stay Ahead with Maintenance Reminders in Asset Details

Now, asset details come equipped with a clear overview of pending maintenance reminders, so you never miss an important service. Reminders are neatly organized by status—overdue, due soon, and upcoming—along with key details like service plan name, status, and remaining/overdue values (odometer, hours, etc.). Effortlessly manage your assets and stay on top of maintenance, ensuring peak performance every time!

Reports

Expanded Insights with New Geofence & Groups Reports

Two powerful reports have been added to the standard package, giving fleet managers deeper visibility into geofence usage and organizational structure.

Streamline access, optimize setup, and make smarter decisions—fast.

Enhanced Reports with New Data & Visuals

We’ve upgraded existing reports for richer insights. The Trips and Device Data Log reports now feature an interactive Map component so fleet managers can get the data and the visual context all in one place.

We’ve also added new data fields in the Geofence Interactions Report including Make, Model, and Year of vehicles. The Asset List Report now includes Assigned Driver Groups.

Driver and Fleet Performance Reports now feature Hub and Vision safety scores, and distinguish between scored and all safety events. We’ve refined the safety score calculation to treat consecutive events of the same type by the same driver, within one minute, as one event.

Track Energy Usage by Trip

Fleet Managers now have the power to track energy usage, battery levels, and remaining range for electric vehicles (EVs) on every trip. With detailed calculations based on the asset’s fuel type and battery capacity, managers can monitor efficiency in real time. For other vehicles, energy usage is calculated using the fuel type’s energy content.

Maintenance

Instant Maintenance Alerts for Assigned Drivers

Stay on top of maintenance with automatic notifications directly sent to assigned drivers. When service plan or quick reminder emails go out, the assigned driver of the asset will receive a copy, ensuring they’re always in the loop.

Settings

Archive and Restore People for Cleaner User Management

Streamline your workspace with the new Archive People feature—perfect for hiding inactive users while keeping their data accessible when needed.

Available to users with Manage Users and Archive/Restore People permissions (enabled by default for admins).

Declutter your view without losing valuable history.

Archived users lose platform access and are removed from active assignments, but their data remains accessible when needed.

When archived resources are visible, users can still access full details and data.
Archived assets and people appear at the bottom of lists, tagged with an “archived” label—clearly marked across the platform.

Filter Your View with Archived Resources Toggle

All users can now toggle the visibility of archived assets and people from the top-right menu. Choose to focus on active resources only or view everything—your platform, your view.

Reporting on Archived People

You can now run ad-hoc reports for archived individuals when in “show archived resources” mode.
Note: Scheduled reports for archived people are not supported.

Expanded Integration Visibility

The Integrations page now features a dedicated External Integrations section—showcasing third-party setups made via the FC Hub GraphQL API.

Customize Safety Scores with Ease

Safety score configuration gives Safety Managers the power to tailor calculations to match your organization’s unique requirements. This flexibility helps align safety metrics with your operational goals, driving improved performance and a safer fleet overall.

Safety Managers can now fine-tune FC Hub and FC Vision safety scores and risk classifications directly from the Organization Settings page. This new feature puts control in your hands, allowing you to tailor safety metrics to your specific needs, and ensuring your fleet operates with the highest standards of safety and risk management.

Safety Managers can now adjust three key configuration sections:

  1. General Configuration: Applied to both FC Hub and FC Vision safety scores.
  2. Minimum Distance per Day: Set the threshold required to calculate a daily safety score.
  3. Risk Classification Thresholds: Define minimum safety scores for each risk category.

Additionally, FC Hub and FC Vision Event Impacts let you configure event weightings for different impact levels—from Off (0%) to Maximum (100%)—giving you complete control over how safety events affect your score. FC Vision users can fine-tune event impacts for even more precise safety monitoring. Manage risk, optimize performance, and ensure safety at every turn!

FC Hub

Web Module

FC Vision Event Rules and Notifications

You can create custom rules using FC Vision events alongside geofences and work schedules for enhanced automation. Receive email notifications and direct recordings right to your inbox.

The following FC Vision driver behaviour conditions are available within a custom rule:

Unlock More Flexibility with Increased DVR Request Cap

Advanced unlimited customers can now request up to 16 minutes of video per DVR request, offering greater control and flexibility for your content.

Archived Drivers in FC Vision

FC Vision now supports archived people. A driver’s trip data will show or stay hidden based on your Archived Resources setting—giving you more control over what you see. More details can be found in the FC Hub section.

FC Inspect

Web Module

Acknowledging Repaired Defects

Make sure nothing gets missed—now you can enable or require drivers to confirm each repaired defect before submitting their DVIR.

Enable this option in the Inspect web module to help prevent unresolved defects from carrying forward.

For jurisdictions where acknowledging repaired defects isn’t needed the ‘accept/reject’ setting can be turned off.

When this setting is turned off:

  • Repaired defects won’t appear in the driver’s app
  • They’ll be removed from future inspections for that asset
  • They’ll still show as repaired on the original inspection report

Allow Drivers to Clear Major Defects When Resolved

Drivers can already mark minor defects as ‘Not a Defect’—now, you can extend that option to major defects.

Perfect for situations where a driver gets a major issue fixed on the road but can’t reach the office to update the status. Enable this setting to give drivers the flexibility to clear resolved defects and get back on the road—safely and compliantly.

Enhanced Schedules Page for a Streamlined Experience

We’ve revamped the Schedules page to make it simpler and more intuitive. Now, your inspection schedules are neatly organized into two sections: Regulatory Schedules (the default ones provided with Inspect) and Custom Schedules (those you create or modify). You can easily collapse or expand each section, so finding the schedule you need has never been quicker or easier!

More Flexibility for Managing Schedules

Managing your schedules just got even easier. Simply click the three dots next to any schedule to duplicate or delete it. Plus, when adding a new schedule, you now have the option to start fresh or quickly duplicate an existing regulatory schedule with just a click.

Easily Manage Active and Archived People

FC Inspect now supports archiving people. Inspections submitted by archived drivers are still fully visible in the Inspections list. To help differentiate, their names now appear with “– archived” next to them. This ensures full inspection history remains accessible, no matter the driver’s status.

Clearer Audit Trails for Archived Users

Now, when reviewing a defect’s audit history, actions by archived users or drivers are clearly labeled with “- archived” next to their name. This small tweak brings big clarity, helping you distinguish between active and archived accounts at a glance.

Smarter Rule Setup with Group Selection

Setting up FC Inspect rules just got easier! You can now apply rules to entire asset and geofence groups—not just individual assets.

Refined Group Filtering for Inspections Target

We’ve fine-tuned how inspections are filtered by group to reduce confusion and improve clarity. Now, inspections will only appear in a group’s filtered view if:

  • The asset inspected belongs to the selected group, or
  • The driver who submitted the inspection belongs to the group.

If neither is true, that inspection won’t appear—even if submitted alongside others that do belong. This ensures safety managers see exactly what matters: inspections tied to their drivers and assets.

Smarter Defect Filtering with ‘Last Reported’ Dates

Now when you filter defects by date, you’ll also see carried-forward defects that were last submitted within the selected range—even if they were originally reported earlier. Plus, a new ‘Last reported’ column makes it easy to track recurring issues at a glance. No more missing active defects due to filter gaps.

Mobile Module

Add Up to 4 Photos Per Asset

We’ve listened to your feedback and enhanced our photo feature! Drivers can now upload up to four photos per asset during inspections—perfect for capturing the front, back, and sides. If photos are required, only one is needed, but the option for more is available for added detail.

New Flexibility for Major Defects

Drivers can now be allowed to mark carried forward major defects as Not a Defect—just like minor ones—if enabled by an admin. This helps correct mistaken reports or document on-the-go repairs. Just remember: use with care, especially for major issues, and always leave a note for audit clarity.

FC BigRoad ELD

Web App

Quick Access to Archived Trucks

Find deleted or archived trucks easily with the new Fleet – Trucks – Removed menu in BigRoad. No more searching—just navigate to see the full list and access truck history in seconds!

Seamless Archiving Between FC Hub & BigRoad
